As the parents of two young kids the idea of planning and executing a camping trip is overwhelming. Eliza has taken the hardest stuff off of our plates and helped make wonderful memories for our family. Beyond the logistics (planning, food, gear, etc) she’s a blast to be around and knowledgable about all things outdoors!
We would never go camping without Eliza’s support. We have some basic gear but not enough to actually survive in the woods. She’s helped us prepare and take fun trips including canoe camping, camping with a dog, and even camping with our toddler.
Eliza is a pro! She definitely seems in her element in the outdoors, her comfort is contagious. She has changed my view on camping with my family without a doubt, I actually want to go! She has shown me and my family how to prepare everything in advance so we can go camping together comfortably with peace of mind. Because we are so prepared with all of the essentials, we can relax and have a more fun time all around. To be stress free under the stars is priceless- knowing meals are planned, our gear is all there, I can truly relax and let my kid run around in the woods, enjoy time around the fire with friends and rest happily under the stars all night. Also, she taught us to whittle recently which we are now obsessed with!
I’ve always wanted to expand our family outdoor adventures from mountains to rivers, but felt intimidated about learning how to paddle and figuring out the gear. Eliza made it so easy to get on the water, outfitting our family with whatever we needed, whether that was a kayak or canoe, paddle, PFD, straps. She was excellent at teaching a newbie the foundational skills I needed, and I’ve also seen how good she is at explaining things to children. Eliza planned a family canoe camping trip, and everyone—from the littlest to the oldest—had a great time because we were prepared, and we enjoyed learning about about what makes the places we were in special.
We had a wonderful time on our 3 day canoe trip on the Shenandoah, big success for our toddler’s first camping experience!
I can’t recommend Eliza enough as an outdoor adventure guide! She was the person who introduced me to canoeing and I’ll always remember my first canoeing trip with her. She has an amazing way of making you feel comfortable and confident and also making the whole experience incredibly fun!
